Therapy is a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with a trained professional who accepts you as you are and listens without judgment. It is a place where you can feel seen, supported, and understood. It can help you gain insight into patterns that may be holding you back, develop healthier coping skills, and improve your relationships and overall well-being. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or general life transitions, therapy can support you in creating meaningful and lasting change.
Depending on your specific needs, some of the things that we may explore in treatment include addressing safety concerns (e.g. thoughts of suicide or homicide), increasing your overall feelings of hope and motivation for change, learning mindfulness/coping skills, building a support system, identifying and challenging unhelpful thoughts, exploring and processing feelings and/or trauma history, learning helpful life skills (e.g. communication, conflict resolution, boundary setting, or problem solving skills), increasing your participation in social/recreational activities, improving your overall self-esteem, exploring your personal values, and finding meaning/purpose in life. You know what you want, my goals is just to help you get there!

On the date of your therapy appointment, you will receive an email notification with a link to begin your session. You will use this link to log into your appointment once it is time to get started. Since services are online, you can do therapy from the comfort of your own home or even in your car (as long as you are parked). Please note though that since services are online, you are required to have stable internet/audio connection, video capabilities, and a confidential space when engaging in therapy sessions.

Once you are ready to start services, You can choose to either book a free 15 minute consultation or jump straight into booking your first therapy session right away. Either way, this will give us the opportunity to get to know one another and determine whether or not we are a good fit for each other before proceeding further with treatment. Once you begin services, you will have access to your own individual client portal where you can schedule appointments as needed. Please see here to learn more about beginning services and/or scheduling appointments.

I am available for appointments Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-12:00pm and from 1:00pm-4:00pm. I am also available on Fridays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Please note that available appointments may be limited as I do typically have a full caseload of clients. If you would like to confirm whether or not I currently have a reoccurring appointment slot on a specific day or time, please feel free to contact me using this link.
-
The frequency of your appointments will depend on your individual needs, but are usually scheduled on a weekly or biweekly basis. Please note though, that I can increase services to 2x a week for clients with more severe symptoms or decrease services to 1x a month for clients with very minor symptoms. Client’s also have the option to contact me if they are needing an emergency appointment. Though I can not guarantee that I will have availability right away, I am always willing to put you on my standby list and can inform you as soon as I get a cancelation within my schedule.
-
How long therapy will take will largely depend on your individual needs. However, a majority of people find that they experience benefits after 6-12 months of therapy services. Keep in mind though that for individuals with more significant symptoms or a long history of trauma, more time may be needed.

Yes, therapy is a protected service in which you maintain your confidentiality. This basically means that whatever you say in session stays in session, with just a few exceptions.
All therapists are mandated reporters. Consequently, if you report anything about child abuse (abuse of someone 17 years old or younger), elder abuse (abuse of someone 65 years old or older), or dependent adult abuse (abuse of an adult with a disability that prevents them from caring for themselves) then I do have to report this to the proper authorities in order to ensure the safety of everyone involved. If I ever have to make a report, I will always let you know in advance, since I know secret reports can damage our trust with one another. The only time I will refrain from informing you of a submitted report is if disclosing the report would put someone involved in physical danger.
The other thing that I may not be able to keep confidential is if you express thoughts about hurting yourself or others. It is my number one priority to keep you and everyone around you safe. Consequently, if you begin to have thoughts about wanting to harm yourself or others, I will work with you on creating a plan to keep you and everyone around you safe. However, if I feel that we are unable to work as a team to keep everyone safe, I will be legally obligated to contact the hospital or police for extra support in ensuring your safety.
Aside from these main exceptions, a majority of everything else discussed in therapy will remain confidential, unless you request and/or provide legal permission for your information to be shared. Please note though that their may be other minor exceptions to confidentiality based on your specific circumstances. If this is the case, I will always be upfront and honest with you if/and when these circumstances occur, so that you can personally decide how much you wish to disclose in session.

During your first therapy session, we will collaboratively discuss your needs and personal reasons for seeking therapy services. As you share this information about yourself, I may ask specific questions in order to help me better identify and understand your personal needs. I will also ask you about your unique strengths, as I strongly believe that these can be used in order to help you meet your overall goals for treatment. I will then offer some information about the services I provide in order to help us collaboratively determine whether or not we are a good fit for one another. I do this because I want to ensure that services will be a worthy investment of your time, energy, and money. If we decide that we are a good fit for one another, we will then create a plan for moving forward in treatment. If we decide to continue treatment, my hope is that this initial session will be a great starting point for building trust and rapport with one another.

I’m not here to waste your time, energy, or money. Therapy should not be forever. I eventually want you to feel so strong and confident that you no longer need me. I want you to THRIVE, not just SURVIVE. That is why I track all of my client’s progress on a regular basis. I do this by checking in with you every 3-6 months to review your symptoms/progress, update your treatment goals, and give you the opportunity to share what is and is not working well within treatment. Your feedback during this process is what helps me make sure that we are on the right track while continuing to individualize treatment to your specific needs.
So how do we know when your ready to end treatment? Well, we will decide on this together, but usually some good indicators that you are ready to graduate from services are 1) you are running out of things to talk about, 2) your symptoms/impairments are absent or minimal, 3) you have successfully met all your treatment goals and 4) you are feeling pretty secure, stable, and happy in life. Once these conditions are met, we will begin transitioning you out of treatment little by little. This may involve slowly decreasing the frequency of services, creating a relapse prevention plan, and taking the time to review and celebrate all your progress and success! At this point, you will have done the hard work, and it will be time to celebrate and enjoy life!

In case of an emergency, please call your local emergency telephone number OR go to your nearest emergency room. If needed, you can also contact the national suicide and crisis lifeline by dialing 988. The safety of you and your loved ones should always be a priority!

Therapy is an entirely voluntary service. You are in control of if and for how long you would like to engage in services. There is no time commitment and you can even schedule 1 session at a time if you feel like this would help you decide whether or not you wish to continue services. You can then stop services whenever you feel like you have met your treatment goals or are no longer benefiting from therapy. It is also common (and totally ok!) to occasionally need a break from therapy services. Whatever your pace, I will be honored to be a part of your healing journey and will gladly support your transition out of services once you are ready to do so.

If I currently have a full caseload and am not accepting new clients at this time, you still have a few options available if you would like to pursue services directly with me.
One option is to request to be placed on my wait list. If you decide to pursue this option, please note that I cannot guarantee how long it will take before a new reoccurring appointment slot becomes available, but I will make sure to contact you once a month in order to give you an update on your status on the wait list.
You also have the option to request to be placed on my standby list. If you decide to pursue this option, you will not have a reoccurring appointment time, however I will text you whenever I get a cancelation in order to see whether or not you would like to be squeezed into that appointment time. Once another re-occurring appointment time becomes available, you will then be given the option to set up regular appointments.
If I am currently fully booked and you would like to pursue either of these options, please feel free to contact me using this link.
